Professional Badminton Player & Brand Ambassador Viktor Axelsen

On 24 April 2010, a 16-year old Dane became the first non-Aisan badminton player ever to capture the title of U19 men’s singles world champion. A performance not made any less impressive by the fact that all the opponents the Danish racquet rocket met - and defeated - on his way to the gold medal were two years older than him.

Winning the world title saw the young superstar’s name splashed all over the headlines in both Danish and international sports media, and put Viktor firmly in the spotlight. Even beyond the bounds of badminton itself. To highlight the magnitude of his achievement, Viktor was presented with the prestigious Danish award Årets Fund (Find of the Year) later in the year. A few months after that, he was awarded the title of “Bestseller’s Olympic Hope” at the SPORT 2010 gala event.

The world Championship title put the name of Viktor Axelsen on hte lips of everyone in the international badminton community. And over the peroid that followed, he made it abundantly clear that he had both the drive and the potential to work his way even higher up the hierarchy - in the senior rankings, too.

Today, Viktor Axelsen is 23 years old and has long since established himself as one of the leading profiles in the international badminton circus. Consistenly ranked as number 6 in the world by the BWF, Viktor is always invited to participate in the main tournament at the biggest events with the greatest media exposure; events such as the All England, China Open, Malaysia Open, Indoniesia Open, India Open and Hong Kong Open. He is also a permantent fixture on the team selected to represent Denmark at the World Championships, both as a single player and as a member of the men's team (Thomas Cup) and the mixed team (Sudirman Cup). Best result ever was when Viktor - as the youngest player ever - got a bronze medal at the World Championship.
